Sunday Worship (Zoom)

10.30am – Worship Together via Zoom video-conference.

Today we will be joining in prayer with, and for, our friends in Lubuto, Zambia. Our parish link with them is a precious reminder of the Love of God reaching across all parts of the world. The Minister, Rev Joseph D. Simukonda, and congregation are near to us through the Holy Spirit and, as we remember them today, we ask God’s Blessing on them at this time.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

Thank You, Lord, that through Jesus we are one in You.
Be with Your children in Dunscore, Lubuto, Glencairn and Moniaive. Guide our Ministers and Elders in leading us to You.
Strengthen us in sharing Your Love within our communities.
Give us courage to live by Faith, and increase our Hope and Joy
by the presence of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

Hymn 139

Praise the Lord, you heavens, adore Him; praise Him, angels, in the height;
sun and moon, rejoice before Him,
praise Him, all you stars and light.

Praise the Lord! for He has spoken; worlds His mighty voice obeyed; laws which never shall be broken for their guidance has He made.

Praise the Lord! for He is glorious; never shall His promise fail;
God has made His saints victorious; sin and death shall not prevail.

Praise the God of our salvation! Hosts on high, His power proclaim, heaven and earth, and all creation, laud and magnify His Name.

Foundling Hospital Hymns (c.1796) from Psalm 148

Hymn MP411

Let there be Love shared among us, let there be Love in our eyes.
May now this Love sweep this nation; cause us, O Lord, to arise.
Give us a fresh understanding, knowing Your Love that is real.
Let there be Love shared among us, let there be Love.

Let there be Hope … Let there be Peace … Let there be Joy … Let there be Love …

Hymn 547

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our griefs and sin to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, oh, what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in Prayer!

Have we trials and temptations, is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged: take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful,
who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer. >>>

Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Jesus is our only refuge:
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Joseph Scriven (1819-1886) Matthew 10:34-end – Take up your Cross!

Hymn 533

Will you come and follow me
if I but call your name?
Will you go where you don’t know and never be the same?
Will you let My Love be shown, will you let My Name be known, will you let My Life be grown
in you and you in Me?

Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind and never be the same?

Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare? Will you let me answer prayer in you and you in Me?

Will you let the blinded see
if I but call your name?
Will you set the prisoners free and never be the same?

Will you kiss the leper clean, and do such as this unseen, and admit to what I mean
in you and you in Me?

Will you love the ‘you’ you hide if I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same?

Will you use the faith you’ve found
to reshape the world around,
through My sight and touch and sound in you and you in Me?

Lord, Your summons echoes true when You but call my name.
Let me turn and follow You
and never be the same.

In Your company I’ll go
where Your Love and footsteps show. Thus I’ll move and live and grow
in You and You in me.
