Opening Prayer
Hymn 427
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
hearts to heaven and voices raise;
sing to God a hymn of gladness,
sing to God a hymn of praise:
He who on the Cross a victim
for the world’s salvation bled,
Jesus Christ, the King of Glory,
now is risen from the dead.
Christ is risen, Christ the firstfruits
of the holy harvest field,
which will all its full abundance
at His Second Coming yield;
then the golden ears of harvest
with their heads before Him wave,
ripened by His glorious sunshine,
from the furrows of the grave.
Christ is risen, we are risen;
shed upon us heavenly grace,
rain and dew, and gleams of glory
from the brightness of Thy face;
so that we, with hearts in heaven,
here on earth may fruitful be,
and by angel hands be gathered,
and be ever, Lord with Thee.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Glory be to God on high;
Alleluia to the Saviour,
who has gained the victory;
Alleluia to the Spirit,
fount of love and sanctity:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
to the blessed Trinity.

Hymn 485
Dear Lord and Father
Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
forgive our foolish ways;
reclothe us in our rightful mind;
in purer lives Thy service find,
in deeper reverence, praise {x2
In simple trust like theirs who heard,
beside the Syrian sea,
the gracious calling of the Lord,
let us, like them, without a word
rise up and follow Thee {x2
O Sabbath rest by Galilee!
O calm of hills above,
where Jesus knelt to share with Thee
the silence of Eternity,
interpreted by Love! {x2
With that deep hush subduing all
our words and works that drown
the tender whisper of Thy call,
as noiseless let Thy blessing fall
as fell Thy manna down {x2
Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
till all our strivings cease;
take from our souls the strain and stress,
and let our ordered lives confess
the beauty of Thy Peace {x2
Breathe through the heats of our desire
Thy coolness and Thy balm;
let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
speak through the earthquake, wind and fire,
O still, small, voice of calm! {x2

Hymn MP249
Our God reigns
How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him
who brings good news, good news,
proclaiming peace, announcing news of happiness:
our God reigns, our God reigns!
Our God reigns {x4
You watchmen, lift your voices joyfully as one,
shout for your King, your King.
See eye to eye the Lord restoring Zion:
your God reigns, your God reigns!
Our God reigns {x4
Waste places of Jerusalem break forth with joy,
we are redeemed, redeemed.
The Lord has saved and comforted His people:
your God reigns, your God reigns!
Our God reigns {x4
Ends of the earth, see the salvation of your God,
Jesus is Lord, is Lord.
Before the nations He has bared His Holy arm:
your God reigns, your God reigns!
Our God reigns {x4
